At SwimBrite Swimming School, our Rookie Lifeguard Programme helps confident young swimmers develop essential water safety, rescue and lifesaving skills in a fun, structured and supportive environment.

Delivered in partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), the programme builds confidence, responsibility and teamwork — both in and out of the water.

Rookie Lifeguard FAQs

Your child should be a confident swimmer and comfortable swimming independently. Stage 7 or equivalent is recommended as a starting point, but our team can advise if you’re unsure.
Yes, absolutely. All sessions are supervised by qualified instructors and delivered following RLSS UK guidelines. Safety is always our priority.
Yes. Children work towards official Bronze, Silver and Gold Rookie Lifeguard awards, giving them clear goals and a sense of achievement.
The programme introduces key skills and awareness that provide excellent foundations. However, it is not a qualification for lifeguarding employment — it’s designed for younger swimmers to develop responsibility and water safety skills.
